About us
Save the Planet / STP- Njombe
Save the Planet (StP) is a bold, community-powered environmental NGO headquartered in Njombe – Iringa, Tanzania.
We believe that meaningful climate action starts at the grassroots—by empowering everyday people with knowledge, tools, and the chance to lead.
Founded by Emanuel Mwampamba, StP was born from a simple but powerful idea: that if we invest in communities—especially youth and women—we can build a future where both people and planet thrive.
Support grassroots climate initiatives and education programs that create lasting environmental change.
Our Vision
A climate-smart Tanzania where communities lead sustainable change from the grassroots to the globe.
Our Mission
To protect nature and empower people—especially youth and women—to actively combat climate change through education, reforestation, clean water access, sustainable agriculture, and zero-waste practices.
Our Core Pillars
We plant trees, nurture native forests, and protect Njombe’s rich biodiversity through school programs, community nurseries, and conservation education.
We restore springs, harvest rainwater, and teach hygiene to ensure every village in Njombe has safe and reliable water.
We train farmers in sustainable methods, promoting soil health, agroforestry, and organic practices that build food security.
We run climate clubs, debates, and workshops in schools to inspire the next generation of environmental leaders.
We promote recycling, composting, and the reduction of single-use plastics—starting from homes to entire communities.
We uplift women and youth as eco-leaders, entrepreneurs, and change agents through leadership development and livelihood support.
